Gayle King's Bio: Gayle King, the longtime best friend of Oprah Winfrey, has an impressive and storied career in broadcasting. She hosted The Gayle King Show, which was a two-hour, daily radio talk program on XM Radio, and eventually a one-hour daily television show on the Opr ah Winfrey Network. Although both shows were very successful, Gayle was given an even bigger opportunity and on November 10, 2011, it was announced that she had secured a deal with CBS to host a revamped version of "The Early Show." Although The Ga yle King show ended its run on November 17, 2001 as a result of the CBS deal, her 2012 "Early Show" is just another step in the long and wonderful career of this celebrated personality.

In addition to having hosted her radio program The Gayle King S how, King is Editor-at-Large for O, The Oprah Magazine and occasionally appears on The Oprah Winfrey Show. King's extensive media experience often led to in-depth on-air discussions about an array of topics ranging from current events and cultural trends to po litics and more.

King is a three-time Emmy Award-winning newscaster who anchored the local news at a CBS affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut for 18 years.
