Melissa Peterman's Bio: Worldwide audiences started loving Melissa Peterman the moment she began portraying the ditzy home wrecker Barbra Jean on Reba.

The host of CMT’s #1-rated series of 2009, “The Singing Bee,” has also appeared in television shows including "Surviving Suburbia," "Rita Rocks," "Just Shoot Me,” “Living With Abandon,” and has hosted CMT’s “Comedy Stage” as well as the Hollywood Bowl’s Sound of Music Sing-A-Long. She appeared in the hit Coen brothers film "Fargo," th e Method Man film "How High" and the independent comedy "Dirty Politics."

In addition, the Minnesota native has performed in a number of stage productions, including the commercially and critically acclaimed, Tony ‘N Tina’s Wedding, i n which she performed in over 600 performances.

Peterman is a longtime member of the CMT family, having hosted CMT's No. 1 rated series The Singing Bee and CMT's Comedy Stage. Her first televised comedy special Melissa Peterman: Am I the Only One?, also aired on CMT in 2011, and she was also seen hosting the 2010 CMT Music Awards Red Carpet.

Peterman signed to Big Machine Records to release her first comedy album in January 2011. She also hosts the annual Hollywood Bowl The Sound of Music Sing-a-long.

Originall y from Minneapolis, Peterman graduated from Minnesota State University with a theater major. She perfected her comedy skills at the Brave New Workshop, an improvisational theater, as well as the Chicago Improv Festival and the Big Stink Comedy Festival in Aust in, Texas. She is committed to many charities, including Muhammad Ali's Celebrity Fight Night, Habitat for Humanity, the Red Cross and the nonprofit Buzzworks Theater Company.

She is also no stranger to arena performances, having opened for Reba and Kelly Cla rkson on their "Two Worlds, Two Voices" tour, as well as George Strait and Lee Ann Womack. … Read more
