Matthew Perry's Bio: Best known for his decade-long role as Chandler Bing on the smash hit "Friends," Perry began his acting career while at The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California, performing in school productions of "Our Town" and "The Miracle Worker," and was making such an impression that the school's theater director planned a production of "The Elephant Man" specifically to feature Perry. When Perry landed a role in the River Phoenix feature "A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon" however, he withdrew from the school production and officially ended his high school acting career. While still in high school, Perry also pursued improv comedy and became a featured performer at the LA Connection. Despite making some guest appearances on television in the late 1980's, Perry planned to attend the University of Southern California until he was offered the lead role of Chazz Russell in "Second Chance," which was later changed to "Boys Will Be Boys" and Perry found himself suddenly elevated to top-billing status. The early 90's found Perry in more guest appearances before getting his second starring role on the ABC sitcom "Born Free." When the series came to a close, Perry was already well-recognized for his talents and was immediately cast in a new dramatic pilot titled "LAX 2194." Because production was very slow to take off, Perry tried for an audition for the pilot of a new show, called "Six of One," finally getting a spot on the show.

"Six of One" was changed to a different title, and premiered as a new NBC sitcom, "Friends," with Perry starring as Chandler Bing. Through ten seasons of "Friends" Perry received awards and nominations along with his co-stars, and the show was possibly the most watched sitcom of its era.

During the success of "Friends" Perry continued to seek movie roles, including "Fools Rush In," "Almost Heroes" and his hilarious movies with co-star Bruce Willis, "The Whole Nine Yards" and its sequel "The Whole Ten Yards" in 2000 and 2004, respectively.

Over the years since "Friends," Perry has continued to carve out his career in many genres, from an appearance on "The West Wing" that earned him two Emmy nominations to guest-starring in "Scrubs" for the episode for which he also made his directorial debut, along with a starring role in Aaron Sorkin's drama "Studio 60 on the sunset Strip." … Read more
