Hall and Oates' Bio: Daryl Hall and John Oates are major musical influences on some of today's most popular artists including Rob Thomas, John Mayer, Brandon Flowers of the Killers and Ben Gibbard of Death Cab For Cutie. Even Gym Class Heroes named their 2007 tour "Daryl Hall for President Tour 2007." Hall and Oates have become one of the most sampled artists and their sound can be heard everywhere from boy band harmonies all the way to rap-rock fusions.

The duo signed their first record deal in the 1970's and broke music records when in 1987 the R.I.A.A. recognized Hall and Oates as the NUMBER-ONE SELLING DUO in music history, a record they still hold today.

From the mid 70's to the mid 80's, they recorded six #1 singles which included "Rich Girl", "Kiss on My List" and "Private Eyes." These singles came off of their six consecutive multi-platinum albums. If that wasn't enough, they also had 5 other Top 10 singles to boot.
