Christina Aguilera's Bio: Few artists have shown the ability to adapt themselves both musically and in public perception as Christina Aguilera. Born in December of 1980 in Staten Island, NY, Christina moved to Rochester, PA when she was seven years old. Known as "the little girl with the big voice," she came in second place on Star Search at only 9 years old, and went on to sing The Star-Spangled Banner at a number of sporting events for the Pittsburgh Steelers football team, Pittsburgh Pirates baseball team, and the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team, including their 1992 Stanley Cup Finals appearance. Although she tried to hide her talent from schoolmates to avoid ridicule, her television appearances soon made her stand out at school, resulting in a number of bullying incidents. She auditioned for The Mickey Mouse Club in 1991, but did not join the case because she was too young. Two years later she auditioned again and was accepted, joining such notable co-stars as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Kerri Russell and Ryan Gosling. In 1 998 Aguilera sent in a demo of her rendition of Whitney Houston's "Run To You" to Disney, eventually recording the song "Reflection" for their hit animated film "Mulan." The song peaked within the top 20 on the Adult Contemporary Singles chart and was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

After finally being nationally recognized, Christina released her self-titled debut album in 1999, still listed among the Top 100 Albums of All Time by the RIAA, based on sales. This success led Chri stina to be selected among a group of other performers to remake "Lady Marmalade" for the Disney film Moulin Rouge!, again putting the singer atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Dissatisfied with her lack of control over her music and image due to con tractual obligations, Aguilera sued her management in order to terminate her contract. Finally free to show her talents, she released her fourth studio album, "Stripped," in 2002. Shedding her "bubblegum pop" image, this new album display ed a more cavalier and outspoken side of the singer, and although some claimed it to be a "raunchier" approach, the album went on to sell more than thirteen million copies worldwide.

For her 2006 album, "Back to Basics," Christina displaye d a more subdued appearance, dying her hair blonde and embracing a revived Hollywood Glamour look similar to that of Marilyn Monroe. Aguilera referred to the double-disc release as "throwback to the 20s, 30s, and 40s-style jazz, blues, and feel-good soul music, but with a modern twist," and again put Aguilera on top of the charts, debuting at #1 in the US, UK and eleven other countries.

Success has been synonymous with the singer's name for years, and now in her 30's, Aguilera has a string of hit albums , successful tours, film appearances and performances under her belt.
