Carly Simon's Bio: Carly's foray into music began with a short-lived music group she started with her older sister Lucy, where the two performed as The Simon Sisters. Although they would eventually go on to record three albums together, even scoring a minor hit with 1964's "Winkin', Blinkin', and Nod," Lucy left the group to get married and start a family.

Carly later collaborated with eclectic NY rockers Elephant's Memory for about six months, and in 1971 she appeared in the Milos Forman movie "Taking Off," where she played an auditioning singer. She sang "Long Term Physical Effects," which was included in the soundtrack for the movie. Shortly after this movie role, Carly officially began her solo career with the self-titled album "Carly Simon," released on Elektra Records, which included her first top-ten hit, "That's the Way I've Always Heard It Should Be." Her follow-up album "Anticipation," including the title track written about her romance with Cat Stevens, which would go on to reach #3 at Easy Listening Radio and #13 on Billboard's Hot 100.

It wasn't long until Carly scored the biggest hit of her career with the song for which she is most remembered, "You're So Vain," which hit #1 on the US Pop and Adult Contemporary charts and sold over than a million copies in the US alone. It launched her breakthrough album "No Secrets" to #1, staying there for six weeks, and was certified Gold status later that year. "You're So Vain" went on to receive Grammy Award nominations for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. In 1997, by the album's 25th anniversary, it had been certified Platinum and in 2008 was ranked #72 on the Billboard Hot 100's list of the top 100 songs from the chart's first 50 years, August 1958 through July 2008.

Carly Simon went on to record and release more than 30 albums, including studio releases and compilation albums, in addition to releasing videos of her performances and lending her songs to a documentary about Christa McAuliffe, the science teacher who lost her life in the space shuttle Challenger disaster.
