Bon Jovi's Bio: Formed in 1983 in Sayreville, NJ, Bon Jovi took their name from that of lead singer Jon Bon Jovi (John Francis Bongiovi, Jr.) and despite a hiatus or two over the years, they have continued to maintain their position as one of the most influential and pivotal Rock Anthem bands of the last three decades. Along with guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres and current bassist Hugh McDonald, the band has kept a mostly consistent roster over the years with only one exception, former bassist Alec John Such. Their debut self-titled album featured the billboard hit "Runaway," and was certified Gold by the RIAA in 1985. After the release of 1986'as "Slippery When Wet," Bon Jovi rocketed to super-stardom with the chart-smashers "You Give Love a Bad Name," "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive."

Working non-stop, Bon Jovi ended 1987 having headlined 130 shows across the world, grossing over $28 million. They followed up the success of "Slippery When Wet"? with 1988's "New Jersey," which spent four consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned five #1 singles. Once again, the band hit the road for a massive worldwide tour taking them through 1990, touching down on 22 countries and performing more than 232 shows before it was all over. After 16 months of touring for "New Jersey," the band members were exhausted physically, mentally and emotionally. After the last show in Mexico, having no clear plans for the immediate future, according to Bon Jovi the band members "just went home."

Jon Bon Jovi decided to release a solo album, resulting in the successful soundtrack to the movie "Young Guns II" and featuring the Grammy-nominated, Academy Award-nominated, AMA and Golden Globe winning track "Blaze of Glory," which had quickly shot to #1 on the Billboard charts. In October of 1991 the band retreated to St. Thomas in the Caribbean to discuss plans for the future and to resolve issues among the band members. In January of 1992, the band once again found themselves in the Vancouver Little Mountain studios to work on their fifth studio album, "Keep the Faith." From there, Bon Jovi went on to release a greatest hits album in 1994, "Cross Road," and followed that up with their sixth studio album, "These Days" with new bassist Hugh McDonald (replacing Such, although McDonald had been bassist for the band's early hit, "Runaway"), and again launched a massive worldwide tour through 35 countries and 126 shows through early 1996. Once again exhausted, the band decided to go on a brief two-year hiatus, before returning to the spotlight in 2000 with their seventh studio album, "Crush."

Today, Bon Jovi is still a spectacular success, having released 11 studio albums, four compilation albums, one live album, and the box set "100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong." They continue to draw countless crowds to concerts, including the most profitable tour of 2010, "The Circle Tour," and are continually rumored to have a new album or a reworked "Greatest Hits" release in the mix.
